Our team is led by Dr Sarah Watton, who qualified as a Chiropractor in 1992 and then completed her Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) diploma in 1993. Sarah purchased the well-established City Chiropractic Clinic in 1994 and opened our other brand, Abbey Chiropractic Clinic in Romsey in 1996.
Sarah Tsang graduated from the Anglo European College of Chiropractic in 2008 and joined our clinic in 2010. Sarah has a particular interest in lower limb biomechanics, especially prescribing orthotics for fallen foot arches. Sarah continues to pursue updated methods and techniques through continuing professional development to ensure the treatments we provide are the very best they can be.
Chiropractic Receptionists
Supporting our chiropractors are our fantastic chiropractic receptionist team – Jean Lester who has more than 30 years’ experience as a chiropractic receptionist and has been working with Sarah Watton for over 25 years and Chris Blaxall who is a satisfied former patient of the clinic. Together, we are all dedicated to offering you a warm welcome and beginning your journey towards improved health and wellbeing.
Meet the Team
Sarah Watton
Qualified as a Chiropractor in 1992 after completing her 4 year BSc degree in Chiropractic at the Anglo European College of Chiropractors (AECC) in Bournemouth. She then completed her Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) diploma in 1993 whilst working at the Verwood Chiropractic Clinic.
Sarah purchased the well established City Chiropractic Clinic which was then situated in Brunswick Square Southampton in 1994. She then opened the Abbey Chiropractic Clinic in Romsey in February 1996. The City Chiropractic Clinic has recently moved location and is now located at Figflex, Nelson Gate, SO15 1GX.
Sarah Has completed much post-graduate training. Courses have included rehabilitation, dry–needling (Western Acupuncture), Chiropractic for babies and children, Chiropractic in Pregnancy, and Chiropractic in golfers. She continues to further her studies each year.
Sarah lives in the New Forest with her husband Paul. their daughter Verity and their black labrador Etta. Sarah’s interests include walking in the Forest with Etta, family cycle rides, horse riding, sports cars (classic japanese sportscars) and motoring. Sarah is an accomplished musician and plays the violin with the Bournemouth Philharmonic Society Orchestra, Poole Light Orchestra, Allegro orchestra, and Questa Musica orchestra. Sarah and Paul enjoy fine wines and fine dining. They also enjoy holidays both abroad and in the UK.
Sarah very much enjoys her work as a Chiropractor. She loves to help people and finds it immensely satisfying to be able to change the quality of life. Sarah has been on the receiving end of Chiropractic care for many years, with injuries resulting from horse riding falls, and postural issues related to playing the violin and flute. Sarah believes the quicker a problem is identified and treated the better and that offering the best advice and exercises to prevent the problem from recurring is an essential part of Chiropractic practice.
Sarah and her daughter are passionate about guinea pigs and currently have 27! They are a mixture of rescues, ones bought from breeders and homebreds. They enjoy showing some of them in specialist guinea pig shows. Sarah is also a keen swimmer and swims several times a week.
Sarah Tsang
Graduated from the AECC (Anglo European College of Chiropractic) in Bournemouth in 2008 after a 5 year degree with a master’s in Chiropractic. She initially worked in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire but relocated back to her home town of Southampton and joined the City Chiropractic Clinic and Abbey Chiropractic Clinic in 2010. Sarah has a particular interest in lower limb biomechanics, especially prescribing orthotics for fallen arches of the feet. As a life-long sufferer of “flat feet” and corresponding side effects such as low back pain, knee pain, and poor balance, she sought to find solutions through chiropractic to help her and her patients’ problems. Both Sarah Tsang and Sarah Watton use orthotics services (insoles) within the clinic if considered beneficial to the individual patient. Sarah continues to pursue updated methods and techniques through CPD (continuing professional development) to better treat lower limb dysfunctions resulting in further musculoskeletal complications. Sarah also has a keen interest in nutrition for a holistic approach to Chiropractic care. Chiropractors regularly advise patients on lifestyle, diet, and exercise to aid them in their recovery.
Sarah lives in Chandlers’ Ford with her husband Charlie and their sons Jasper and Tobias. Sarah enjoys cooking and enjoys trying new dishes and skills for her friends and family. She enjoys gardening and growing fresh ingredients for her cooking. Sarah and Charlie also enjoy travelling.
Jean Lester
Chiropractic receptionist for over 30 years, and has worked with Dr Sarah Watton at the City Chiropractic Clinic for nearly 30 years and the Abbey Chiropractic Clinic for 28 years. She says: “I thoroughly enjoy the job and find it extremely rewarding”.
She has two grown up children and four grandchildren with whom she enjoys spending time. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, theatre and going to the cinema. She is also an avid Chelsea FC supporter.
Chris Blaxall
Chris has worked at the City Chiropractic Clinic for 6 years. She came to us having been a doctor’s receptionist for many years. She lives in Southampton with her husband Paul, their dog Gracie and cat Issy. Chris enjoys gardening and has an allotment, and walking.
Etta Radford
Etta is our meet and greet manager. She is Dr Sarah Watton’s nearly 16 years old black labrador and she has come to both clinics since she was 14 weeks old. She is very docile and friendly and loves our patients to make a fuss of her. However, she is very perceptive and if she picks up that people are nervous of dogs then she will leave them well alone. Usually, she can be seen sleeping in her bed or under the chairs in reception. She is a very loud snorer!!
